Good Bye and Good Riddance!

Well, it is finally 2007 and I am very glad to see it finally arrive. Last year was probably the most difficult year that I had to go through. Not much can be said about a year where the absolute best thing that happened to you is that you didn't die. However, I am am eternally grateful that didn't happened. I would much rather stick around for a while. Hopefully, all the turmoil of the previous years have passed and I will be in a better place because of it. That better be the case, because I will be really annoyed if there was no purpose to it.

Normally, New Year's Eve doesn't mean a whole lot to me. Quite honestly, I can stay up to midnight any day of the year, so losing out on some really good sleep to watch a ball drop in another time zone or fireworks being shot off over the lake which is 25 miles away doesn't seem so special. The prospect of making resolutions that probably will go unmet is also somewhat disencouraging.

This year seems more important to me. It is truly a clean slate year. I get the chance to leave behind a lot of junk and move forward with my life. I for one am looking forward to the things that await me.
